Risk ratings

Here you can find the risk ratings for the 129 NHS foundation trusts authorised as at the fourth quarter of 2009-10.

We publish three risk ratings for each NHS foundation trust:

• financial risk rating (rated 1-5, where 1 represents the highest risk and 5 the lowest);
• governance risk rating (rated red, amber or green); and
• mandatory goods and services (rated red, amber or green). 

Foundation trusts are only allocated risk ratings once they have been authorised for a full quarter.

*The foundation trusts with an asterisk in the table below have been registered by the Care Quality Commission with compliance conditions. As outlined in the Compliance Framework 2010-11 under the new governance risk rating system these trusts would be rated amber-green.
