The conference focused on the importance of value for money in healthcare, with speakers bringing perspectives and experience from both the UK and abroad, including Professor Michael E. Porter and Professor Tom H. Lee from Partners Healthcare, Boston.

Michael Porter is a professor at Harvard Business School and is a leading authority on competitive strategy, the competitiveness and economic development of nations, states, and regions, and the application of competitive principles to social problems such as health care, the environment, and corporate responsibility. Tom Lee is a Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management, Harvard School of Public Health.
