Consultation on an International Financial Reporting Standards based NHS Foundation Trust FReM for 2009/10

Monitor issues the NHS Foundation Trust Financial Reporting Manual (FT FReM) on an annual basis and directs that NHS foundation trusts follow its requirements when preparing their annual accounts. From 2009/10 International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) are being adopted across central government and the public sector in the UK on the instructions of HM Treasury.

Monitor has accordingly produced an IFRS based NHS Foundation Trust Financial Reporting Manual for 2009/10 (FT IFReM) based on HM Treasury’s IFReM, making the changes necessary to include guidance on matters relevant to, and highlight areas of likely irrelevance for, NHS foundation trusts.

This consultation sought feedback from interested parties on issues relating to the IFRS based FT IFReM prior to it being finalised and issued.
