The Compliance Framework describes Monitor's approach for monitoring compliance by NHS foundation trusts with the terms of their authorisation.

This latest revision of the Compliance Framework includes:
- additions to accommodate ambulance foundation trusts;
- updates to healthcare targets to reflect changes in priorities in the Operating Framework for 2009/10;
- actions relating to decisions arising from the Principles and Rules for Cooperation and Competition;
- amendments to reflect the introduction of the Care Quality Commission;
- induction programmes for newly appointed chairs and chief executives;
- amendments to reporting of governor election turnout rates; and
- requirements for assurance of adequate information governance.
