Consultation on the amendments to the Compliance Framework
This consultation outlined proposals to develop and enhance the effectiveness of four specific areas of the Compliance Framework for NHS foundation trusts.
The proposed changes aimed to:
- ensure that relevant financial information is available to NHS foundation trust boards and Monitor in respect of service-line performance;
- improve the indicators used to derive annual and in-year financial risk ratings;
- define more closely the approach taken by Monitor in respect of major investments by NHS foundation trusts; and
- revise reporting requirements for membership in the Compliance Framework to provide clearer criteria against which to assess NHS foundation trust membership plans.
